Job Description
Serves as Administrative Assistant providing support to the Division Administrator and the Manager for Administrative Operations in the Division of Hematology, within the Department of Internal Medicine; performs and coordinates management-level administrative duties for divisional leaders; oversees and coordinates appointment calendars; schedules, coordinates and organizes professional, scientific and administrative individual and committee meetings, and other large scale events and conferences; assists Manager for Administrative Operations with planning, monitoring and coordinating daily activities of administrative office; researches, collects and compiles information and data as requested to aid Division Director, DA, Manager and other division management staff in decision making and strategic planning initiatives; transmits directives; actively participates in the development and implementation of divisional administrative office policies and procedures; assists with implementation of new initiatives; assists Manager with functional supervision of academic administrative assistant staff members; coordinates and monitors workloads of support staff as directed by Manager; creates and generates reports; independently composes and responds to routine correspondence; prepares and edits correspondence, reports and other documents for DA and Manager; coordinates and makes travel arrangements; prepares and tracks reimbursement of travel expenses; assists with special projects as assigned.


Minimum Education Required
Per Classified Civil Svc Specs or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
Per CCS Specifications. 6 months experience (600 hours course work or training) in customer service or communications, including researching, analyzing and interpreting information; 3 months experience (300 hours course work) in budgeting. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
