Full job description

The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity, reliability, and performance of critical systems, utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps to streamline processes and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive configuration management plan.
Establish and maintain a centralized repository for storing configuration items.
Utilize Azure DevOps to track, manage, and automate changes to hardware, software, and documentation.
Implement a rigorous change control process to evaluate, approve, and implement modifications.
Monitor and audit configurations continuously to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Generate detailed reports and analytics to provide insights into configuration trends and identify potential issues.
Provide training and support to staff on configuration management best practices and effective use of Azure DevOps.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Configuration Manager or in a similar role, preferably within a research or governmental organization.
Strong knowledge of configuration management principles, practices, and tools.
Proficiency in using Azure DevOps for configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, and reporting.
Knowledge of Scrum Agile development methodology
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide training to staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., ITIL, PMP, or similar).
Experience with other configuration management tools and technologies.
