Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• BSN completion preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Colorado license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Minimum 2 years of pediatric RN experience in a large pediatric facility. Experience with trach/vent patients, EVD and lumbar drains, chest tubes, JP drains, central lines, TPN/lipids, CPM/ortho/halo traction, colostomy, ileostomy, cecostomy and nephrostomy care, TBI, neuro assessments and seizure management, solid organ transplant patients (liver/kidney), and trauma and rehabilitation patients.

Special Requests: No RTO is approved during the first two weeks of the assignment. RTO not disclosed at the time of submission may not be approved.

Unit Details: Patient ratio: 1:3-4 (occasionally 1:2 based on acuity). Equipment includes Medfusion and Baxter Sigma IV pumps, Kangaroo feeding pumps, CADD PCA pumps, VocSN trach ventilators, plus three additional ventilator types. Respiratory support is available 24/7. Anesthesia support is available as needed. RNs start IVs (team assistance available). Unit care includes ketamine and heparin drips, and RN-managed high-flow oxygen weaning.

Shift & Scheduling: Modified self-scheduling is handled through an internal scheduling committee. Weekend requirement: 10 weekend shifts per 8-week scheduling block (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). No call. Must work holidays as needed for scheduling.

Floating Requirements: First float targets are Medical, Oncology, Respiratory, Cardiac Acute Care, Rehab, and NICU. Possible NOC float sites include the North and South Campuses.
