Job Description



As a Security Officer Armed in Saint Paul, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a critical utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to site needs with professionalism. You will deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative Allied Universal team that acts with integrity. This is an armed position requiring an armed guard card or license.

Pay Rate: $25.60 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate at a utility location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, substations, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas, with working conditions varying by site.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials, and report unauthorized activity or suspicious conditions according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while following applicable armed post procedures.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations accurately, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
