This is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the new Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC) in Colorado Springs. Delicate precision and care with the highest quality are at the heart of the leading-edge components made in the Precision Meso-scale Technology Center within Keysight. In this role you will be ensuring chemical stablity and testing methods are upkept within our Automated Plating process. You will work with various teams to ensure the system is correctly upkeept with as little production impact as able.
Responsibilities
Chemical Bath Control & Process Stability
- Maintain, monitor, and adjust plating chemical baths to meet engineering specifications and control limits. Perform routine sampling and analytical testing (e.g., metal concentration, pH, additives) and evaluate results against defined parameters. Analyze trends and react to deviations by executing corrective actions to protect production output, yield, and quality.
Chemical Make-Up & Lifecycle Management
- Execute chemical make-up, replenishment, and replacement activities in alignment with production demand. Monitor chemical consumption and adjust replenishment strategies accordingly. Perform scheduled weekly and monthly system maintenance including acid, caustic, and metal system adjustments to sustain process stability.
Material Control & Traceability
- Manage controlled and precious materials with full traceability from receipt through usage and reclaim. Maintain accurate inventory levels, initiate chemical ordering, and ensure proper documentation for cycle counts, scrap processing, and reclaim activities.
Chemical Handling Support & Operational Discipline
- Act as secondary support to chemical handling operations, ensuring adherence to safe handling procedures and process standards. Provide oversight during transfers and support 5S and standard work practices to maintain operational discipline.
Documentation Adherence, Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to detailed, audit-ready documentation of sampling, testing, adjustments, and material usage. Ensure all activities follow validated engineering procedures and meet EHS, PPE, and hazardous material handling requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Production Support
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance to resolve process issues. Utilize process data to improve stability and performance. Support introduction of new chemicals and process changes while proactively escalating risks and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science; equivalent hands-on experience considered in lieu of a degree
- HAZWOPER training/certification (40-hour) or ability to obtain
- Wet chemical analysis and analytical testing (titrations, pH, metal concentration, additives)
- Working knowledge of plating/manufactoring chemistries and bath maintenance (acid, caustic, nickel, gold, cyanide systems)
- Safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals per EHS, PPE, and SDS requirements
- Ability to apply engineering specs/control limits and execute corrective actions
- Comfort in a controlled manufacturing environment supporting 5S/Audit Tracablity/Standard Work
- Attention to detail, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration
Pay Range:
USD $62,070.00 - USD $103,440.00 Year
