Job Details:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Project Manager for our client a leading Electrical Subcontractor in commercial and industrial construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, particularly commercial construction, and construction management. They will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager in planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Assistant Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Project Manager in all aspects and phases of the electrical construction projects from initial planning to completion.
2. Collaborate with general contractor and other site leaders to ensure project feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
3. Assist in the preparation and implementation of project execution plan and coordinate with team members to keep workflow on track.
4. Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed, and stored.
5. Assist in managing and solving conflicts within the project team.
6. Monitor and manage project budget and schedule. Identify and resolve issues that could impact cost and time objectives.
7. Ensure project safety standards and procedures are implemented and followed in accordance with contract documents and regulatory agencies.
8. Participate in project meetings, update stakeholders on project progress, and provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager.
9. Assist in the successful closeout of projects, ensuring all aspects are completed and approved by the necessary parties.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering or 2 years of construction field experience
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on electrical construction.
3. Proven track record of managing all phases of construction projects, from conception to completion.
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Excellent ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and interact at all levels of the organization.
8. Proficient in construction management software and MS Office Suite.
9. Strong safety record and understanding of safety rules and regulations.
10. PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
