The operating room is equipped with six beds and handles an average of 400 cases per month. The scope of procedures includes a diverse range of specialties: Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Cataract and Retinal Eye surgeries, Gynecologic, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Plastic and Reconstructive, and Gastroenterological surgeries. The majority of cases are general and orthopedic. Surgical operations are conducted Monday through Friday, with additional night, weekend, and holiday call rotations to ensure continuous coverage.
How you'll contribute
A Central Sterile Technician who excels in this role:
- Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
- Provides processing and documentation of all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
- Provides monitoring and performance of antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and daily documentation.
- Provides operation of departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
- Provides management of inventory levels of sterile supplies, ensuring all items are properly stored, tracked, and replenished as needed.
- Provides maintenance of accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory records.
- Provides collaboration with surgical teams to ensure all necessary sterile supplies are available for upcoming procedures.
- Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on patient needs.
Schedule: Full Time- Days
What we're looking for:
- Required credentials: Central Sterile Technician certification;
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
- BLS within 30 days of hire; and ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
- At least one year of relevant experience preferred, particularly in sterile processing, surgical services, or a healthcare setting emphasizing aseptic technique.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to support the proper identification, handling, and processing of surgical instruments.
- Experience with sterile processing and aseptic technique, with a strong understanding of proper sterilization practices and surgical instrument handling.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain rigorous standards for cleanliness and safety.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills, including proficiency with systems used to track instruments, supplies, and inventory efficiently.
- Excellent teamwork and reliability, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while supporting surgical and healthcare teams.

Pay range: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour.
