Location : Good Samaritan University Hospital
Catholic Health (CH) is currently recruiting a Board-Certified Trauma Surgeon join Catholic Health and the Level 1 Trauma Center at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, NY . This position will be anchored at Good Samaritan Hospital (GSUH) in West Islip, NY (Suffolk County).
Catholic Health is an integrated health care system serving the communities of Long Island, New York. The System is comprised of six hospitals, three skilled nursing facilities, a regional Home Care and Hospice service, and a multiservice, community-based agency for developmentally disabled individuals. The system serves more than three million people across Suffolk, Nassau, and Eastern Queens Counties of New York.
For the past few years, GSUH has undergone a multi-million dollar expansion with the development of its 300,000 square-foot Patient Care Pavilion, which opened in 2025. The expansion includes a new, enhanced 78-bed adult emergency department, 16 operating rooms with hybrid capabilities, and private medical-surgical patient rooms. This addition serves to meet community healthcare needs, attract physicians, and upgrade to a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Clinical Services and Qualifications:
Provide high quality and effective care following evidence-based trauma guidelines as well as providing exceptional service excellence to trauma patients. This position will report to the Chair of the Surgery Department, Medical Director of Trauma and Chief Medical Officer.
Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care or Trauma Surgery
Board Eligible / Certified General Surgery
ATLS Certified
Manage all aspects of trauma care and coordinate care with subspecialists
Dynamic work atmosphere that embraces a healthy work-life balance
Requirement for participation in research publications
Salary Range: $350,000- $500,000K
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's education, training, skills, licensure and certification, competencies and other relevant experience. The salary range listed does not include any bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
