Description

Description

We are seeking entry level through skilled and dedicated CNC Machinists (Mill or Lathe) to join our team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery and well as inspecting precision components on vertical and/or horizontal CNC machines.

This is a trainable, tiered position with growth opportunities across three levels — from entry-level operators to experienced precision grinders.

Depending on your background, you may enter at any of the three skill tiers, with clear pathways for advancement based on performance, skill development, and experience.

Essential Functions:
  • Operate CNC milling and turning machines to produce precision components.
  • Load and unload parts, set fixtures, and verify part alignment.
  • Follow setup sheets and operation instructions for production runs.
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges) to inspect parts.
  • Perform setups, establish work and tool offsets, and adjust speeds and feeds.
  • Edit or create G-code programs for process optimization.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T symbols and 3D part features.
  • Troubleshoot surface finish, tool wear, or dimensional issues.
  • Maintain machine cleanliness, perform minor maintenance, and ensure safe operation.
  • Collaborate with lead machinists, engineers, and quality inspectors to ensure part accuracy.

Position Requirements

Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machining processes (training provided for entry-level).
  • Familiarity with measurement tools and shop math.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow written instructions.
  • Willingness to learn setup, programming, and inspection techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3-10 years of CNC machining experience (mills and/or lathes).
  • Skilled in full setups, offsets, and tool selection.
  • Experience with G-code edits, live tooling, or multi-axis machining.
  • Knowledge of materials such as aluminum, stainless, and hardened steels.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Familiarity with CAM programming software (Mastercam or similar) a plus.
  • Leadership or training experience welcomed.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Standing for extended periods while operating grinding machines.
  • Frequent lifting (up to 25 lbs.), bending, and handling of precision components.
  • Exposure to coolant, grinding dust, and high-noise environments (PPE provided).
  • Working with high-speed rotating equipment requires focus and adherence to safety protocols.
