- Study blueprints, drawings, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, operational sequences, and setup requirements.
- Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines including mills, lathes, and grinders.
- Operate manual machining equipment to produce parts to specification.
- Verify conformance of finished workpieces using appropriate measuring devices.
- Fit and assemble machined components into complete assemblies; verify dimensions and alignment.
- Install machined replacement parts in machinery and equipment; test units to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Review work orders and drawings to fabricate precision metal components.
- Safely measure, cut, shear, bend, form, grind, file, sand, polish, sandblast, and test parts as required.
- Use manual mills for drilling and milling operations as needed.
- Use manual lathes for turning operations as needed.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company safety procedures and standards.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Technical school graduates or one to three years of related machining experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedure documents.
- Proficiency in using measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers.
- Ability to lift 25-35 pounds regularly and 35-50 pounds occasionally; role requires significant standing, stooping, and bending.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
