Position Overview
Velocity Physical Therapy is actively seeking a passionate and dedicated Staff Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team in Tampa, Florida. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating orthopedic patients, collaborating closely with families, healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure the highest standard of care. You will also play a key role in maintaining comprehensive documentation of patient services as mandated by state regulations and organizational policies.

Work Environment
This position is situated onsite at our Tampa hospital facility, where you will work within a multidisciplinary team, comprising physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation staff. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients within twenty-four (24) hours of physician referral, ensuring to document any delays appropriately in the medical records.
- Design personalized treatment plans based on each patient's unique needs and present these for approval from referring physicians.
- Deliver treatment in adherence to prescribed plans, utilizing manual therapy techniques and exercise programs designed specifically for orthopedic conditions.
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants during patient care activities, ensuring compliance with state practice acts and promoting patient safety.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient progress, challenges, and modifications in treatment plans.
- Engage actively in various meetings, including Patient Care Conferences and Rehabilitation Conferences to discuss patient outcomes and care strategies.
- Provide ongoing education to facility staff through in-service training sessions to enhance team knowledge and skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation such as evaluations, treatment notes, and discharge summaries according to regulations and payer requirements.
- Instruct family members and caregivers on home exercise programs and maintenance plans for continuous patient care post-therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily focus on an orthopedic patient population, treating individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions related to musculoskeletal issues. Your expertise will be vital in enhancing their functional mobility and quality of life, contributing to improved patient satisfaction and rehabilitation outcomes.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
- Current and valid Florida State Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
- Strong background in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, which are essential for effective interaction with patients, family members, and healthcare team members.
- Proficient in multi-tasking and managing a dynamic patient caseload within a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire for continuous personal and professional growth.

Preferred Experience
