Key Responsibilities

• Implement and carry out treatment plans as established by supervising Physical Therapists, ensuring alignment with individual patient goals.
• Guide, motivate, and assist patients in performing therapeutic exercises, employing methods that promote engagement and proper technique.
• Accurately document patient responses and progress within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring clarity and compliance with healthcare standards.
• Prepare therapy areas and maintain equipment, making sure that treatment spaces are clean, organized, and ready for patient use.
• Monitor patient safety throughout therapy sessions, adeptly adjusting activities or interventions as needed to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Create a nurturing and encouraging environment for patients, fostering a sense of community and support.
• Maintain open lines of communication with the supervising Physical Therapist and other clinical team members, facilitating a comprehensive approach to patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our team serves a diverse patient population comprised mainly of older adults recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. The PTA will assist in addressing a range of conditions such as post-operative rehabilitation, stroke recovery, and joint replacement therapy. This position requires a compassionate approach tailored to the unique needs and challenges faced by our patients, emphasizing functional recovery and improved quality of life.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid California Physical Therapist Assistant License is mandatory.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or related field from an accredited institution is required.
• CPR/BLS Certification is preferred; the candidate should be willing to obtain this if not already acquired.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with patients and families, ensuring a supportive and empathetic approach to care.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, showing adaptability to various patient needs and treatment protocols.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in an outpatient or hospital setting.
• Experience working with electronic medical records systems is a plus, providing familiarity with documentation and patient management.
• Previous outpatient experience will be highly regarded; however, new graduates passionate about patient care are encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits
