Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Machinist to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Machining position performs a variety of routine and non-routine machining assignments within the machine shop and insures timely and accurate test materials are provided to the testing departments. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Compensation: $24-28/hour (depending on experience)
Weekend and Overtime is required

Responsibilities
- Use of bandsaws, manual and CNC lathes, and mills to machine a variety of metals into suitable test specimens
- Ensure safe operation of machinery at all times
- Ensure all material is machined correctly to customer/industry specifications
- Ability to transfer technical knowledge of machining procedures/requirements and successfully satisfy and meet customer expectations
- Maintains equipment and schedules preventative maintenance
- Gather and record dimensions in accordance with quality assurance requirements
Skills / Qualifications
- 2-5-years' experience working in machine shops preferred (training will be provided)
- Good problem-solving skills
- Need to be willing to take the initiative and work with minimal supervision (after training)
- Pro-active attitude and willing to take on new tasks and projects
- Able to be flexible with hours/days worked as overtime and weekend working is required
- Good understanding of measurements and measuring tools
- Attention to detail and able to read and understand specifications
Physical Demands:
- Frequency of required physical force: Moderate
- Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and > 50 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50+lbs periodically
