Job Title

Process Engineer

Position Overview

The Process Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials to support the production of highperforming, customer-centric flooring products. This role partners closely with site and corporate engineering, manufacturing, and technical teams to optimize process performance, improve reliability, and reduce cost.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot process, equipment, and quality issues, applying sound 
  • engineering judgment to make timely and effective decisions.
  • Review, analyze, and disposition quality issues, including root cause analysis 
  • and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Submit and manage supply requisitions through PeopleSoft to support process 
  • improvements and trials.
  • Coordinate and support process, material, and equipment trials in collaboration 
  • with technical and corporate engineering teams.
  • Work closely with site and corporate engineering to maintain and improve 
  • mechanical and process integrity of the production line.
  • Lead and support Six Sigma and continuous improvement projects focused on 
  • asset reliability, downtime reduction, and process optimization.
  • Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Manufacturing, 
  • Technical, R&D, and other support groups to drive process improvements.
  • Optimize UV coating processes to improve efficiency, throughput, quality, and 
  • cost performance.
  • Document and maintain line procedures, standard work, and operating 
  • parameters.
  • Plan and execute assigned projects while maintaining accurate documentation 
  • and project records.
  • Develop training materials, work instructions, and process documentation for 
  • new and existing processes.
  • Provide technical support and coaching to production teams.
  • Support and coordinate co-op or intern engineering resources.
  • Participate in regular meetings with management and cross-functional teams to review performance and progress toward facility goals.
  • Support roll preparation and UV lamp maintenance activities from a process 
  • and reliability standpoint.
  • Prioritize and support preventive maintenance activities in coordination with 
  • maintenance and operations.
  • Perform additional duties and engineering projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • Experience in process engineering, project engineering, or manufacturing operations
  • Working knowledge of continuous manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Minitab, Google tools, and similar software.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred; willingness to complete Six Sigma training required.
  • Experience with continuous manufacturing lines and/or UV coating processes preferred

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
