Sous Chef – High-Volume Modern Latin-Inspired Concept (Washington, DC)

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Sous Chef to join a dynamic, chef-driven restaurant group in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role within a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen known for bold flavors, scratch cooking, and elevated guest experiences.

The ideal candidate is a strong culinary leader who thrives on the line, leads by example, and excels at developing teams while maintaining consistency and discipline in execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and service execution
  • Lead BOH team through prep, service, and closing in a high-volume environment
  • Maintain consistent food quality, plating, and presentation standards
  • Train, coach, and develop kitchen staff to improve performance and efficiency
  • Manage ordering, inventory, and food cost control
  • Enforce sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times
  • Assist with menu execution, specials, and seasonal changes
  • Step into line positions as needed and lead service during peak periods

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Sous Chef or strong Senior Kitchen Supervisor experience
  • Experience in high-volume, full-service restaurant environments
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of food cost, inventory, and kitchen operations
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency
  • Passion for hospitality, teamwork, and culinary excellence
