The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans designed to help residents achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life.
Essential Responsibilities- Provide occupational therapy treatments as outlined in the resident‘s plan of care.
- Document resident progress and treatment outcomes accurately and timely.
- Communicate resident status and therapy updates with the interdisciplinary team.
- Assist residents in improving functional mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), and adaptive skills.
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
- Participate in care planning meetings and therapy team discussions.
- Ensure resident safety and dignity during all therapy sessions.
- Current Colorado Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing.
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for improving the lives of seniors and rehabilitation patients.
