Job Description

As our Medical-Surgical RN Director, you’ll have the opportunity to shape nursing excellence, develop future leaders, and create a culture where both patients and team members thrive. You’ll be supported by a dedicated leadership team that includes Virtual Nursing Support, an Assistant Nurse Manager, Clinical Coordinator, and Charge Nurses on every shift.

As Director, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership with accountability for:

  • Daily nursing operations and overall unit performance
  • Quality outcomes, patient safety, and patient experience
  • Staffing, scheduling, productivity, and workforce management
  • Employee engagement, retention, and team development
  • Development and accountability of nursing leaders and frontline staff
  • Regulatory and accreditation readiness
  • Performance improvement and organizational goals
  • Budget management and financial stewardship
  • Collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary partners, and hospital leadership

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of five years of professional RN experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting
  • Progressive nursing leadership experience with responsibility for clinical operations, staffing, quality, patient safety, and team performance
  • Nursing Manager-level experience strongly preferred
  • Previous Nursing Director experience preferred
  • Medical-Surgical or comparable inpatient acute care leadership experience strongly preferred

Additional Job Description

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program required
  • Master’s degree preferred or actively pursuing

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Current RN license with the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact-state licensure required
  • Current BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Certified Medical Surgical Registered Nurse certification is preferred
