Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Respiratory Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant specialty experience within the past 3 years. Manager may or may not interview; clinician must be okay with this. If the clinician has questions, please email the AM. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: - 2 years of experience as an RRT in Adult Critical Care and NICU. - 1 prior travel assignment completed. - Be familiar with Drager and Servo ventilators, including Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U. - Skills required for success: Airway Management Devices/Suctioning, Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, Xopenex, Aerosol set up mask, Aerosol set up trach, Medihaler, Metered dose inhaler, Nebulizer, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Trach collar, BiPAP, CPAP, Troubleshooting high pressure alarms, Weaning from mechanical ventilation, Assist in high risk delivery, Umbilical blood gases, Comfortable drawing and analyzing ABGs.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - ED experience preferred. - Teaching hospital experience is preferred. - Community hospital experience is preferred. - Skills preferred: Bronchoscopy, Bicarbonate, Inhaled Flolan, Ketamine, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (INo), Theophylline.

Unit Details: - Traveler will be doing the following: Airway Management Devices/Suctioning: Endotracheal tube/suctioning, Extubation, Nasal airway placement, Nasal airway suctioning, Oral airway placement, Oropharyngeal/suctioning, Pulmonary Hygiene, Sputum specimen collection, Tracheostomy/suctioning, ABG interpretation. - Neonate, infant, adult, and geriatric patient population.

Shift & Scheduling: - No on-call requirement. - Every other weekend required. - Holiday coverage expected.

Floating Requirements: - Float between Adult and NICU units, including adult and neonatal patient populations.

Details:

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
