We engage stakeholders in new and creative ways to build brands and reputations that last.

About the Role

Weber Shandwick is seeking a curious, creative, and collaborative Associate to join our team in Atlanta, GA. This role is on our Corporate team, part of Weber Advisory—a unit delivering trusted, agile C-suite counsel by blending communications expertise with cultural insights to accelerate stakeholder and organizational value. This role will focus on executing communications, reputation and earned media strategies for corporate, advocacy and public sector clients at the intersection of business, policy, media and culture. You will be a vital engine for our account teams, driving projects forward from ideation to execution while helping bring to life the best in-culture ideas.

What You'll Do

  • Content Development: Draft high-quality, strategic written materials, including press releases, op-eds, messaging frameworks, executive briefing documents, and social media copy.
  • Media Relations & Strategy: Proactively monitor the media landscape, build and maintain targeted media lists, draft compelling pitches, and conduct outreach to reporters across business, policy, and trade publications.
  • Event Planning & Activations: Support the logistics, vendor coordination, and execution of events and brand experiences, ensuring every physical detail aligns with the broader campaign strategy.
  • Strategic Ideation: Actively participate in team brainstorms, bringing fresh, culturally resonant ideas to the table to advance client priorities.
  • Client Experience & Account Support: Support account management by coordinating team and client meetings, developing status reports, and helping to manage and track deadlines.

What You'll Bring

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in communications or public relations.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate corporate priorities into clear, compelling narratives for broad audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Competencies:

  • Collaboration & Teamwork: A proven ability to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues, clients, and agency partners, bringing positive energy and serving as a highly reliable partner.
  • Proactivity & Agility: A self-starter mentality with the ability to anticipate needs before they arise, manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, and maintain a positive, solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Detail-Oriented: A strict commitment to delivering flawless, precise, and accurate work—whether it’s a client-facing strategy deck, a storytelling narrative, or a quick Teams message, or a minute-by-minute event run-of-show.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong foundational skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. (Experience with media databases and social tracking tools is a plus).
