Float Pool Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse Float Pool at MedStar Health, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care across multiple hospital units within a large, community-based healthcare system serving the Maryland–Washington, D.C. region. In this dynamic role, you will flex between medical-surgical, telemetry, step-down, and specialty units based on patient needs, using your clinical expertise and adaptability to support diverse populations.
You will perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications and treatments, respond to changes in patient conditions, and document care accurately in the EMR. Working within MedStar’s patient-first, mission-driven culture, you will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and support staff to create and implement individualized care plans that promote safety, healing, and patient education.
As part of the float pool, you will navigate various workflows and unit cultures, serving as a clinical resource and stabilizing presence wherever assigned. You will uphold infection prevention and quality standards, respond to emergencies, and contribute to performance improvement initiatives across the system.
