The individual in this position will be working in the Theater scene shop and performance spaces to support the production activities for the theater and dance department shows, as well as facilitate the general day-to-day workings of the scene shop. Hours are in the afternoon with some evening and weekend time depending on the needs of the shows. The position will entail construction and installation of scenery, lighting, audio, properties, and masking for each show, as well as maintenance and department production support.

Pay rate: $9.70/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Construction and installation of scenery, lighting, audio, properties, and masking for each show

  • Maintenance and department production support

Qualifications:

  • There is no expectation for prior construction or theatrical production experience, however the student needs to be willing to learn quickly and pay attention to details.

  • Willingness to ask questions and the ability to focus on the assigned tasks and get along well with fellow students is a must.

  • Students must be able to show up on time and understand that the type of work being done in the shop is highly variable depending on the needs of the current production.
