What You Will Do
The Precision Control and Actuation Systems department consists of more than 150 engineers working collaboratively with internal and external customers and programs to provide innovative solutions for controlling product motion, including ground, sea, and air launched vehicles used by a variety of end users who depend on the quality and integrity of our systems. Our systems include control algorithms and firmware, electronic control units, actuators containing high power motors and precision gear trains, harnessing design, and other components for interfacing with the vehicle and packaging the control assemblies. Due to the highly cross-functional nature of these systems, we are constantly looking for talented engineers with a system-solution mindset.
What You Will Learn
You will contribute your knowledge of engineering practices and problem-solving to perform mechanical design and development activities. You will support, contribute, and collaborate in a team environment, receiving inputs from program or team experts, and work on projects, determining and developing approaches and solutions.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related (STEM) major and actively
- Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
- Experience utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools such as CREO or equivalent
- Experience with Engineering Analysis and Simulation software and programming tools such as MATLAB and Python
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
Qualifications We Prefer
- Preferred majors: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Experience in mechanical or electrical design, engineering, and analysis
- Experience in manufacturing methods and processes, including machining, casting, forging, welding, and bonding
- Experience in mechanical drawing practices, dimensioning, and tolerancing
- 1 prior internship or co-op, and/or hands-on experience with club/team (i.e. baja/formula racing, robotics, rocketry, EV, RC/UAV, etc)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
