Full job description
UMC Physicians | UMC Health System | Lubbock, Texas
UMC Physicians is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYN physician to join a growing women's health program in Lubbock, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity to practice full-spectrum obstetrics and gynecology with a collaborative team.
Our maternity program is designed to support both excellent clinical care and an exceptional patient experience. UMC offers a Level IV Maternal Designation and is supported by a Level IV NICU, giving physicians the confidence of high-level maternal and neonatal care when pregnancies become complex. Physicians also have access to three unit-based operating suites for surgical delivery, an important advantage for both scheduled and urgent C-sections.
Highlights:
* Level IV Maternal Designation supported by a Level IV NICU
* 3,200 annual deliveries
* Current clinic team: one physician and two APPs
* Average clinic volume: approximately 25 patients per day
* Dedicated OR time: 1.5 days per week
* Call structure: only one weekend per month; physicians take their own call during the week. Texas Tech Physicians maintains dedicated in-house obstetric coverage to provide additional physician support, allowing patient care responsibilities to be shared when needed and creating greater flexibility within the call schedule.
* Three unit-based operating suites for surgical delivery
* Free hospital-based Doula Program for all patients delivering at UMC
* 24-hour lactation support, with outpatient consults available
* L&D staff trained in high-risk obstetrics, including AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring
* Philips fetal monitoring with wireless capability for patient ambulation during labor
* HUGS infant security system
* Queen-sized postpartum beds
UMC Physicians offers the support of a regional health system, a manageable practice structure, a collaborative care environment, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. The OBGYN team is often described as supportive, optimistic, and a fun group! Patients describe the clinic/clinic team as calm, trustworthy, responsive, supportive, relationship based care, and strong hospital resources.
