- Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography or Sonography Program; or CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program, required.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in sonography, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification(required): NH Medical Center-Certified and registered by ARRT in Sonography or certified and registered by ARDMS in a minimum of one specialty - RT(S) or ARDMS within 6 months of hire, required.
The Sonographer I Acute assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the ultrasound equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans in the acute setting. The sonographer is responsible for inpatient, outpatient, the emergency department & the operating room procedures to include biopsies, drainages, paracentesis, and thoracentesis. The sonographer must possess the skills and competencies necessary to work effectively across a variety of clinical settings and is expected to either regularly work in, or rotate through, an acute care facility as part of their ongoing responsibilities.
