Full job description
Who we are
Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.
As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.
What you will be doing
The Test Quality & Reliability Engineer will own the quality, reliability, and scalability of manufacturing test systems that enable Neros’ production growth. This role will ensure test infrastructure provides accurate, repeatable, and trusted results by driving improvements in test coverage, system robustness, uptime, and data quality. The engineer will partner closely with Test, Manufacturing, Quality, Hardware, Firmware, and Operations teams to prevent escapes and remove test as a production bottleneck.
Responsibilities
- Own validation, qualification, and continuous improvement of manufacturing test systems from NPI through production ramp
- Analyze test data, failure trends, and system performance to identify root causes and drive corrective actions
- Improve tester reliability through calibration control, preventive maintenance, measurement validation, and uptime improvements
- Develop and maintain test quality processes including GR&R, test coverage analysis, limit validation, fault injection, loop test, and system health monitoring
- Partner with engineering teams on DFT/DFM improvements to increase test effectiveness and reduce manufacturing risks
You should have the following
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing test engineering, quality engineering, reliability engineering, or a related field supporting complex products in production environments
- Proven experience developing, validating, and sustaining manufacturing test systems, including test hardware, software, fixtures, instrumentation, and data collection systems
- Strong understanding of test quality fundamentals, including test coverage, false pass/fail analysis, measurement accuracy, calibration, and tester reliability
- Experience with structured problem-solving methods such as root cause analysis, FMEA, 8D, fault isolation, and corrective/preventive actions
- Hands-on experience analyzing manufacturing test data, failure trends, and production metrics to drive quality and reliability improvements
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Product Quality, Hardware, Firmware, Software, and Operations teams
- Understanding of DFT (Design for Test), DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and how product design decisions impact manufacturing test effectiveness
Nice to have
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing environments in aerospace, drones, automotive, consumer electronics, or other complex electromechanical products
- Hands-on experience with statistical analysis tools, SPC, MSA (Measurement System Analysis), Gage R&R, and reliability data analysis
- Experience developing automated test software or scripts using Python, LabVIEW, C#, or similar programming languages
- Familiarity with DFT/DFM principles, manufacturing data systems (MES), and test data analytics platforms
- Experience building test quality processes, including test validation plans, calibration strategies, preventive maintenance, and tester health monitoring
US Salary Range
$149,500 – $209,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
