Full job description

Our client, manufacturing industry is seeking a Production Scheduler to join their team. As a Production Scheduler, you will be part of the Operations Department supporting the production planning and manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Production Scheduler

Location: South Plainfield, NJ

Pay Range: $26.00 per hour

Shift: Monday - Friday 9AM - 5PM

What's the Job?

  • Develop and maintain detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, backlog, inventory, and capacity.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to identify and resolve material shortages and supplier delays to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Plant Leadership to balance labor, equipment, tooling, and capacity requirements.
  • Monitor work-in-process and production progress, adjusting schedules proactively to meet delivery commitments.
  • Communicate schedule changes and potential delivery risks promptly to relevant stakeholders, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

What's Needed?

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing environments.
  • Associate Degree in Operations or related certification preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems, bills of material, routings, and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
