Job Summary
Leads the design, development, and maintenance of internal data systems that automate the accounting department's commission processing, accounts payable, and payroll reconciliation workflows. Transforms manual, spreadsheet-driven operations into reliable digital pipelines — improving data accuracy, reducing turnaround time, and establishing scalable infrastructure for the organization's financial operations.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain automated systems for ingesting, validating, and processing carrier commission statements across multiple carriers and formats
- Build and manage tools for generating, formatting, and encrypting agency payment files for distribution
- Develop reconciliation systems that compare commission, payroll, and agency payment data to flag discrepancies before payment
- Create and maintain configurable data mappings between carrier formats and internal standards
- Manage agent and agency master data including NPN records, carrier IDs, and organizational hierarchies
- Build secure, role-based tools for agent self-service access to compensation data
- Architect and maintain cloud-hosted data infrastructure with automated backup, archival, and recovery
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement systematic, automated solutions
Qualifications
- Proficiency in data engineering and automation (Python, SQL, Excel)
- Web application development and cloud infrastructure management (GCP)
- Deep knowledge of insurance commission structures, AP workflows, and payroll reconciliation
- Experience designing systems for large, multi-source financial datasets requiring normalization, validation, and audit compliance
