Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

  • Plans for and scrubs assigned surgical procedures in accordance with AORN, AST, quality, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Participates in on-call rotation based on the need of the department.
  • Operates the sterilizer and other patient care equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions after proper training.
  • Promotes hospital processes and goals, and communicates issues, whether actual or potential, to appropriate person in the chain of command.
  • Takes initiative in performing other duties, whether assigned or not, such as assisting with updating surgeon preference cards, pulling case carts, stocking rooms, turning-over the OR, and assisting with scheduled supply inventory.
  • Quality Improvement: Strives for high quality performance and takes initiative to make improvements and deliver results.
  • Personal Achievement: Sets and achieves personal goals to advance career-related skills, knowledge and abilities and helps others to improve their skills.
  • Teamwork: Builds effective relationships across work groups by treating fellow employees with courtesy, respect and inclusiveness; maintains a positive attitude and takes responsibility for assignments. Takes initiative in helping others facilitate the delivery of care and promote efficiency and morale.
  • Resource Management: Demonstrates accountability, discretion and sound judgment in using or managing hospital resources.
  • Customer Service: Values and delivers high quality service to all customers through effective application of the ICARE principles and hospital’s service principles.
  • Completes other activities as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology for Surgical Technologist role is required.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology.
  • Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience is preferred.
