Our Midtown Manhattan team is continuing to grow, and we are looking for a junior attorney who wants to build their litigation experience, work alongside experienced attorneys, and develop expertise in asbestos and complex personal injury matters.

Job Details

The Role:
We are seeking a Junior Litigation Attorney to join our Midtown Manhattan office and support our growing asbestos/injury litigation practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1-2 + years of litigation experience who wants to develop their skills in plaintiff-side personal injury and asbestos litigation.

Asbestos experience is not required. We are open to attorneys coming from plaintiff or defense litigation practices who have a solid foundation in civil litigation and are interested in learning a new practice area.

You will work closely with experienced attorneys while gradually taking on greater responsibility for cases, clients, depositions, discovery, motions, court appearances, and other aspects of litigation.

What You'll Do:

• Assist with and manage aspects of asbestos and personal injury cases from initial investigation through resolution
• Meet with clients to learn about their work history and potential asbestos or talc exposure
• Participate in depositions, discovery, and motion practice
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal and factual research related to asbestos exposure, products, scientific literature, and case-specific issues
• Work with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation
• Assist with settlement negotiations and case resolution
• Appear in court as your experience and responsibilities develop
• Collaborate with medical, occupational health, toxicology, geology, and other experts
• Stay current on developments in asbestos litigation and related areas of personal injury law
• Have opportunities to gain exposure to additional types of tort litigation• 1 - 2 years of civil litigation experience

What You Have:

• Active and in-good-standing New York Bar license
• Experience on either the plaintiff or defense side is welcome
• Some exposure to discovery, depositions, motion practice, court appearances, or other substantive litigation work
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills
• Interest in learning asbestos and plaintiff-side personal injury litigation
• Comfortable working directly with clients and as part of a collaborative legal team
• Ability to work in person from the firm's Midtown Manhattan office

Nice to Have:

• Personal injury litigation experience
• Insurance defense experience involving bodily injury claims
• Asbestos, toxic tort, mass tort, or product liability exposure
• Deposition or court appearance experience
• Experience working with medical or scientific issues
