Special Education Teacher

Special Education Teacher for a 36-week contract in Dearborn, MI, earning up to $52 per hour. Responsible for supporting students with cognitive impairments and collaborating with school staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with cognitive impairments in a school setting according to IEP goals and district policies

• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment

• Implement individualized teaching strategies and adapt curriculum as necessary to meet student needs

• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly, documenting outcomes regularly

• Foster a positive and motivating atmosphere that encourages student growth and engagement

Qualifications:

• Michigan Special Education Certification with Cognitive Impairment Endorsement

• Minimum 1 year of experience in special education, supporting students with cognitive impairments

• Strong communication skills and patience

• Adaptability and ability to work collaboratively in a school setting

• Successful completion of background checks and compliance with school district requirements
