Beginner Teacher – Chesterbrook Academy
Teaching preschool at Chesterbrook Academy offers you the opportunity to create a purposeful and engaging learning experience for our youngest students. About the Role
As a Beginner Teacher at Chesterbrook Academy, you will create a warm, nurturing classroom where young children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. You will implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, establish consistent classroom routines, and help students build foundational academic, social-emotional, communication, and self-help skills. You will also partner with families to support important developmental milestones, including potty training and increasing independence.
You Will Also

Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and learning activities

Plan and facilitate arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, sensory activities, and hands-on educational experiences

Provide attentive supervision during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, snacks, rest periods, and transitions

Support students with potty training and other age-appropriate personal-care routines
-
Encourage language development, independence, positive peer interactions, and emotional growth

Create classroom resources and maintain a physical environment that supports student learning

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom

Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leaders to provide a consistent and positive student experience

Communicate professionally with families regarding classroom activities, developmental milestones, and student progress

Follow all school policies and applicable licensing requirements related to health, safety, sanitation, and student supervision
What We’re Looking For
-
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; a completed Child Development Associate credential; or at least 30 hours of college credit, including a minimum of six hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, and one year of previous experience working in a licensed child care facility

Experience supporting young children with potty training and age-appropriate self-help skills

A patient, nurturing, and encouraging approach to early childhood education

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and families

Reliability, collaboration, and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education

Ability to successfully pass state and federal background checks

Compliance with all applicable state education and licensing standards
