Senior Java Backend Developer

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java backend applications and services .
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Design and implement efficient backend architectures with a focus on scalability, performance, security, and maintainability .
• Develop database solutions using SQL and relational databases .
• Troubleshoot application, API, database, and production issues.
• Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-tested code.
• Develop unit and integration tests and participate in overall application quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, application deployments, and production releases.
• Identify opportunities for improving application performance, reliability, and development processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of professional software development experience with strong hands-on experience in Java.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8+ , including object-oriented programming, collections, multithreading, exception handling, and Java APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring MVC .
• Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices .
• Good understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems .
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL .
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate or similar ORM technologies.
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito , or similar testing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Git and software development best practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with distributed technical teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud .
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes .
• Knowledge of Kafka or other messaging/event-streaming technologies .
• Experience with Redis or other caching technologies .
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps .
• Experience with application monitoring and observability tools.
• Understanding of OAuth2, JWT, API security, and secure coding practices .
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of backend services.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
