Salary Range: $300,000 - $400,000 Annually

If you're passionate about advancing critical care through clinical excellence, education, and leadership, you'll find a meaningful opportunity here. As an Intensivist with the Division of Critical Care Medicine, you'll provide expert care to critically ill patients while serving a culturally diverse community. You'll maintain a schedule of 14 shifts per month, typically following a 7-on/7-off rotation, including weekend coverage and 24-hour call responsibilities. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you'll contribute to efforts that enhance patient care, mentor the next generation of physicians, and participate in research, quality improvement, and academic initiatives that help shape the future of critical care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive critical care in a mixed medical and surgical ICU, serving as the attending intensivist for critically ill inpatients and Emergency Department patients

  • Deliver dedicated in-house critical care coverage, including daytime, nighttime, weekend, and on-call responsibilities based on departmental staffing needs

  • Lead the Critical Care Outreach Service and respond to Medical Codes, Rapid Response, and Code Team activations while supervising medical house staff

  • Teach, mentor, supervise, and evaluate internal medicine residents, critical care fellows, medical students, and other rotating trainees

  • Participate in departmental research, scholarly activities, QI initiatives, and peer review

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)

  • Completion of an accredited Critical Care Medicine fellowship with board certification in Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, Pulmonary Medicine, or a related subspecialty

  • New York State medical license and Board Certified/Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine

  • Recent graduates and senior physicians are encouraged to apply

  • Credentialed or eligible for credentialing in the New York State Medicaid Program

  • Ability to maintain active hospital privileges

  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

  • Familiarity with competency-based residency training curriculum
