Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour
For more than 60 years, Wollaston Alloys/CPP-Boston has been a leading manufacturer of stainless steel and high-alloy sand castings in Braintree, Massachusetts. We proudly produce critical components for the defense industry, as well as commercial markets including power generation and other essential industries.
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute significantly to the comfort and well-being of staff, visitors, and clients alike.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including floors, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
- Operate vacuums, and other custodial tools to maintain floor conditions.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Restock supplies like paper products, cleaning solutions, and sanitation materials to ensure continuous availability.
- Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces regularly and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks or report issues related to facilities that require professional repair or attention.
Requirements
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and the proper use of cleaning equipment including floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following safety protocol adherence and chemical handling safety procedures.
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed.
