Job Description:

Disney Parks Food & Beverage Recipe Tester for Cookbook

Job Summary:

Seeking a project-specific recipe tester for the next Official Disney Parks Cookbook. This part-time role reports to Jennifer Eastwood, Sr. Editor, Disney Publishing, and coordinates with the Disney Parks Food & Beverage Public Relations Manager, Disney Chefs at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, and representatives from other Disney locations worldwide.

Responsibilities:

• Test each recipe draft in a home, non-commercial kitchen. Disney Chefs provide 50 recipes: 42 from U.S. resorts and 8 from international resorts, all scaled down from restaurant portions.

• Convert the 8 international recipes from metric to imperial measurements and test both versions.

• Purchase ingredients through the Disney Publishing–approved process. Note that personal shopping is part of testing, including identifying practical substitutions when needed.

• Clarify questions directly with the originating Disney Chef as needed.

• Attend a 10-day Walt Disney World Resort photo shoot (5 recipes per day). For select dishes identified by Disney Publishing, prepare components at home, bring them with a reference photo, and guide the food stylist on accurate assembly.

• Provide final recipe text to Jennifer Eastwood for manuscript development. Then review the manuscript and flag any final notes before sign-off.

Basic Qualifications:

Proficiency with recipe testing for professionally published cookbooks

Proficiency in editing within Microsoft Word

Capacity to handle conflict resolution and make decisions quickly

Flexibility and partnership while being able to adapt to the fluctuating needs of the cookbook

Maintain confidentiality with critical information

Written and verbal communications skills

Ability to begin testing as soon as possible with the goal of initial notes ready before the recipe photo shoot in early 2027

Ten days of full availability to prep for and attend the recipe photo shoot in early 2027

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in culinary food services

Knowledge of Disney Parks Food & Beverage products and services
