Position Overview

BodySync PT is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to become an integral member of our outpatient orthopedic team located in Babylon, New York. Work Environment

You will work predominantly onsite, engaging directly with patients in individual treatment sessions, while also having the opportunity to participate in group therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at BodySync PT, your primary functions will include:

  • Administering direct patient care as prescribed by a licensed physical therapist and in accordance with state regulations, ensuring adherence to treatment plans tailored to individual patient goals.
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of patient progress, including progress notes and discharge summaries, to comply with departmental policies.
  • Regularly monitoring patient responses to therapeutic interventions and adjusting care plans as required, under the guidance of the supervising physical therapist.
  • Participating in emergency procedures to upholding the highest standards of patient safety and care.
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives through chart reviews and patient outcome assessments, aiming to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Engaging in family meetings and discussions about patient care, providing valuable input on ongoing rehabilitation efforts and patient well-being.
  • Collaborating on interdisciplinary projects and participating in staff training sessions to enhance professional development and skills advancement.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient demographic primarily consists of individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. This role will allow you to work closely with a diverse range of patients, providing personalized therapeutic interventions that help them regain mobility, strength, and independence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New York.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • A commitment to continuing education and professional development, with specialized certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitation protocols.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of relevant experience is required, candidates with additional experience in outpatient orthopedics or those familiar with electronic health records (EHR) systems will be given preference. Compensation and Benefits

BodySync PT offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
