Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with 10+ years of experience in mainframe application development, enhancement, and production support. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in COBOL, GLOSS, DB2, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and IBM MQ, with experience supporting both online and batch applications.

Required Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in Mainframe application development and support.
  • Strong hands-on experience with COBOL LE, DB2, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and online/batch programming.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and implementing changes in GLOSS and other Mainframe applications.
  • Strong understanding of Mainframe application architecture, development, and maintenance.
  • Experience with DB2 development, SQL, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency with File Manager and IBM Debug Tool.
  • Strong experience with IBM MQ / IBM WBE.
  • Experience with unit testing and integration testing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot application, CICS, DB2, and MQ-related issues.
  • Experience working with distributed teams and Agile environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Financial Services experience is preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of TMON for CICS for performance analysis.
  • Knowledge of BMC MainView for DB2 performance monitoring.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and VSAM.
  • Develop and implement application changes for GLOSS and other Mainframe systems.
  • Perform impact analysis, coding, unit testing, and integration testing.
  • Troubleshoot application, CICS, DB2, and MQ-related issues.
  • Provide production support and perform root cause analysis for incidents.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and support teams to deliver quality solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize application performance using appropriate tools and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, deployments, and technical documentation.
  • Follow established development standards, processes, and governance requirements.
  • Support applications in an Agile and distributed team environment.
