Experience:

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: ECMO and structural heart experience required.

Required Credentials: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g., Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac or Vascular Sonography, or equivalent academic program and experience.) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or Radiology Technologist (ARRT) with Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI). Valid BCLS certification required/ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.

Unit Details: Uses Siemens Census Vibe. Work involves cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology. Monitors a diagnostic cardiac catheter procedure and a percutaneous intervention and can differentiate between a PTCA, directional and mechanical rotation atherectomy. Performs cardiac outputs, O2 saturations and ACT (Activated Clotting Time) measurements. Calculates basic hemodynamic parameters and records catheterization events in the database computer. Extraction devices include AngioJet, Rotoblator and laser revascularization devices. Identifies coronary anatomy in cine angiographic projections and cardiac pressure waveforms. Procedures include electrophysiologic testing, permanent pacemaker implant, therapeutic ablation of dysrhythmias and implantable cardioverter defibrillators. Work includes intravascular ultrasound and Doppler velocimetry technologies. The role monitors patients during diagnostic heart catheterization and responds to lethal arrhythmias using ACLS standards. The role includes assisting with orientation and training of Cath Lab staff and responsibility for special projects; it may include sitting in on relevant committees.

Shift & Scheduling: Primary shift: 6am-7pm. Night and weekend call is required and all call is prescheduled, with 4 to 6 shifts: 7pm-630am on weeknights and 7pm-630am Friday-Monday (morning). One position schedule will be 9am-930pm Tuesday-Thursday with only weekend call.
