Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprints, and quality control standards
Schedule: 6:00am-2:30pm

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprints, and quality control standards
Schedule: 6:00am-2:30pm
What You'll Do
Daily Responsibilities
- Work from Drawings, specifications, and process plans; use a variety of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators and all Vernier instruments for exact measurements.
- Set up, adjust, and operate various types of milling machines, boring mills, engine lathes, tracer lathes, and drill presses; to perform a wide variety of operations on a diversified line of close tolerance and finish requirements
- Ability to run at least 3 production jobs on 2 different machining centers with minimal supervision (does not include small machine tools)
- Select speeds and feeds, operational sequences, and tooling for required operations.
- Perform recognized operations such as turning, boring, reaming, facing, threading etc., on standardized work.
- Grind tools, spin blocks, rollers, rings, etc.
- Responsible for equipment, material, work and keeping the work area clean and organized
- Proceed with minimum or no supervision and direction
- Do all trim, cut out and cut off work with limited supervision and minimum rework
- Be neat and orderly around work area
- Perform other duties as necessary in order to complete other tasks.
- Demonstrations a working knowledge and follow all of the PPE requirements
- Perform the duties of 3C machinists
What You'll Bring:
- High School diploma or G.E.D
- Work requires knowledge of machining, shop mathematics, and shop practices, plus 5 years' experience
- Must have a valid OSHA forklift license and hold 1C and 3A hoisting license. 15. Demonstrate accuracy in all documentation and job reporting
- Be dependable, work well with others, and focused on the job being done
- Reliable transportation
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Capable of following direction
- Take responsibility for achieving production efficiency, quality of product and reports discrepant material immediately
- Demonstrate customer focus by seeking out, understanding, and responding to the needs of both internal and external customers
- Maintain a positive attitude and communicate openly and honestly with others
- Solve problems proactively and contribute to continuously improving the process/product
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in environments with noise, heat, or dust
- Regularly required to move, sit, and bend for various hours throughout the day
