Forklift Operator
Schedule: Friday - Monday | 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 6pm-630am variety of days for night shift work
Pay: $21.00 per hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift, loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials throughout the facility, and maintaining accurate inventory transactions within the ERP system. The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift to move, load, unload, and store materials throughout the warehouse and production areas.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections before use and maintain propane tanks and related equipment.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments while ensuring accuracy and product integrity.
- Review production schedules and coordinate with supervisors to determine material requirements.
- Monitor material availability, identify overdue materials, and track inventory movement.
- Requisition materials and schedule deliveries based on production priorities and inventory levels.
- Verify that materials delivered to production areas meet required specifications.
- Coordinate in-plant transfers of materials to support production schedules.
- Calculate material quantities needed to complete job orders.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, production reports, and material location information through manual and computerized systems.
- Process and record material movements within the ERP system to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Arrange for repairs or assembly of materials and parts when necessary.
- Monitor and control the movement of materials throughout the facility.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment; manufacturing experience preferred.
- At least 1 year of forklift operating experience, preferably with sit-down propane forklifts.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe material handling practices.
- Ability to accurately track inventory and complete required documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Forklift Operator License.
- Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory control processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate warehouse equipment throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
