Overview

Are you a Transportation or Commercial Auto Underwriter looking for an opportunity to build broker relationships, drive new business, and make an impact in the specialty insurance marketplace?

Risk Placement Services (RPS), a division of Gallagher, is seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Underwriter to join our growing Transportation team. This role offers the opportunity to underwrite a diverse portfolio of transportation accounts while partnering with retail agents to deliver creative solutions for complex risks.


How you'll make an impact

  • Underwrite new and renewal transportation and commercial auto business within established authority.
  • Evaluate risk characteristics, pricing, coverage structures, and policy terms to ensure profitable growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail agents and agency partners.
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing to secure new business opportunities.
  • Analyze loss history, financial information, and underwriting data to make sound risk decisions.
  • Collaborate with carrier partners to identify coverage solutions for transportation-related exposures.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and transportation industry developments.

About You

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
  • Detail oriented; strong analytical skills and good communication and interpersonal skills
