Salary Range: $23.00 - 26.00 per hour
About us
Role Purpose Statement
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Safety Clerk to join our team.
This is a field-based position responsible for monitoring driver compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and partnering closely with operations teams to ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
The Safety Clerk plays a key role in supporting a culture of safety by conducting field observations, monitoring employee work practices, identifying potential risks, and assisting with the implementation of corrective actions and safety initiatives. This position will also help ensure compliance with company safety programs, regulatory guidelines, and site-specific procedures.
Working collaboratively with drivers, supervisors, and operational leadership, the Safety Clerk will contribute to maintaining a safe and productive work environment while supporting continuous improvement efforts across the operation.

Main Accountabilities
• Responsible for SOP training for all new drivers and re-training of drivers
• Responsible for updating and maintaining all driver files
• Processing of all Port Authority/Customs identifications
• Ensure all State inspections, registrations and Insurance ID’s for trucks are current
• Responsible for ensuring all drivers adhere to A-1 Inspection procedures
• Assist the Ramp Safety Supervisor as needed and perform other clerical duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain Airport SIDA badge and CBP Customs Seal within 30 days of hire
• 3-5 years of safety experience preferred; AOA ramp experience may be substituted year for year for Safety experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and other computer applications
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with large groups – must be flexible
• Open availability, ability to work nights and weekends as operations require
