Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performs and supervises modality daily operations and provides leadership relative to the assigned area. This position requires 70 percent patient care and 30 percent supervisory functions. Promotes and advocates imaging services by remaining abreast of the latest changes in technology and equipment. The Lead Ultrasound Technologist ensures accreditations standards are maintained as well as performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of ultrasound equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

  • Coordinates patient flow and provides guidance to staff technologists
  • Provides patient care
  • Provides high quality images
  • Performs image file management in PACS
  • Directs daily departmental operations
  • Oversees orientation and continuing education programs for employees
  • Directs and manages personnel to include staffing schedules and annual evaluations
  • Manages supplies and contains costs
  • Promotes customer service excellence
  • Performs all accreditation responsibilities required by the American College of Radiology

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an AMA approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3-years of technical experience.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
ARDMS registered and/or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) in at least 2 specialties.

BLS Certified

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Evidence of leadership, critical problem-solving skills, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
Experience in leadership of personnel.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements
