Work Environment
This full-time position is onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility, which is equipped with the latest technology and treatment modalities. Your typical work schedule will be from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, offering a stable routine conducive to work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with licensed Physical Therapists to implement individualized therapy programs aimed at enhancing patient mobility, alleviating pain, and preventing further disability.
- Administering therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy under the direction of the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress, maintaining accurate medical records, and effectively communicating changes in patient status to the healthcare team.
- Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities in a supportive manner, encouraging adherence to treatment plans for optimal outcomes.
- Educating patients on self-care techniques and wellness strategies to equip them for continued recovery beyond the therapy sessions.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with diverse outpatient populations diagnosed with orthopedic conditions. This includes patients recovering from surgeries such as joint replacements and sports injuries, as well as individuals with chronic pain or mobility issues. Your expertise will directly impact their rehabilitation journey, helping them regain strength and functionality for improved quality of life.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A valid Florida State Physical Therapy Assistant License or the equivalency of the required educational credentials approved by the state.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical patient care setting, specifically within physical therapy.
- Strong grasp of therapeutic techniques, particularly within orthopedic care.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is an asset.
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing treatment programs for patients post-surgery or with chronic musculoskeletal issues.
- Additional certifications in specialized therapeutic techniques or modalities.
- Experience in a hospital or outpatient rehabilitation environment.
Compensation and Benefits
