Full job description

This position creates processes and performs physical inventory counts on job sites and at facilities. The Maintenance Technician is responsible to complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs requiring mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC and other equipment, systems or structures. Performs daily, weekly and monthly rounds and inspections. Responds to spills and other emergency situations, performing tasks necessary for the wellbeing and protection of the environment, property and occupants, in accordance with contractual obligations. Participates in training directed at increasing job-related skills and assists in training of other employees as directed. Pay: $36.50 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and performs minor and routine maintenance/repairs involving the following on a regular basis:
  • Minor electrical repair including interior
  • Minor plumbing repair
  • Carpentry work
  • Wall repair/painting
  • Tile, carpet, flooring
  • Door locks
  • Performs limited extermination services when required
  • Assists with grounds work when necessary
  • Provides highest quality of service to tenants, staff and visitors
  • Ensures completion of all work orders and keeps Facilities Management advised of status of each repair
  • Maintains accurate records regarding preventive maintenance, service requests
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance of appropriate equipment on a regular basis
  • Constantly is aware of and reports items requiring repairs of the condition of physical property throughout the community
  • Immediately correct unsafe conditions
  • Inspects and maintain all tools in excellent condition
  • Performs work area clean-up and safety-related duties
  • Adhere to all safety procedures regarding the proper use of equipment
  • Use safety equipment (goggles, masks, gloves, etc.) as tasks dictate
  • Knows and adheres to all federal, state and local laws as well as all AES policies and procedures
  • Participates in standby emergency schedule for evening, weekend and holiday coverage
  • Maintains regular and on-time attendance in the workplace
  • Supports and follow ABM’s operational policies and standards
  • Supports and follows ABM’s safety program
  • Performs all duties as required with a ‘can do, will do’ attitude
  • Other duties as assigned

  • POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a valid driver license
  • Related Experience Preferred
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of the following tools:
  • Hand Tools:   Various wrenches, screwdrivers, grips, hammers, snips, posthole diggers, saws, etc.
  • Power Tools
  • User-Moving Aids:   Dollies, hand trucks, stepladders, full ladders, double ladders
  • Mechanical Equipment:  Basic knowledge of power equipment
  • Education/Training:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Trade technical training/schooling a plus but not required
