Job Description:

Gaylord Industries; a division of ITW is seeking a seasoned Sheet Metal Fabricator to add to their team in Tualatin, OR.

Hourly Pay Rate: $23.00- $27.00 hourly DOE

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 3:30pm Overtime on Fridays

Skills/Ability:
  • Skills to perform high quality Tig welding, grinding and finishing skills. This will include: fillet welding with uniform width and depth, and grinding and striping no wider than 3/8" with all burn marks blended out and no marks showing.
  • Skills to fuse weld a 90 degree joint, keeping weld surface flat, width even, with exterior edge sharp and no rollover.
  • Working knowledge of the following tools: drill motors, cutoff saws, Grinders, drill press, Tapping tools, belt sanders and various hand tools.
  • Proficiently read and use a tape measure.
  • Read and understand English in order to read/interpret prints, diagrams and drawings.
  • Proficient math skills.
  • Must be a team player, including good interpersonal skills

Experience:
  • 1+ years Tig welding experience
  • 1+ years grinding/polishing experience


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Tig fillet weld and finish stainless steel equipment and components with uniform width and depth.
  • Ensure high quality standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding assignments.
  • Follow all safety and housekeeping rules.
  • Actively participate in Safety Program
  • Cross train into other areas and job functions as needed.
  • Willing to assist in other areas as needed.
  • Welding is 20% of the assembly process.
  • Installation of screws/nuts/bolts/rivets/silicone and more.


Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum age requirement is 18 years.
  • Successful completion of an internal welding demonstration test


Physical Requirements:
  • The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects of 50 lbs or more.
  • The ability to endure prolonged physical activity to work in demanding environments.
  • The ability to bend, squat, reach, and turn in various directions.
  • The ability to manipulate objects with precision and speed.
  • Vision, hearing, and other sensory abilities are needed for specific tasks.
  • The ability to safely climb and work from ladders, work on scaffolding, or perform other tasks at elevated heights.
