Job Summary
Position is responsible for providing a range of services to leaders focusing on strategic HR and Talent and Business Partnership. Performs as a trusted collaborator and advisor to senior level leadership and management in areas of change management, organization effectiveness, work environment, culture and leadership. Possesses solid understanding of all HR functions and works with business clients and/or HR partners in areas such as employee relations, compensation, and performance management. Typically reports to AVP, Human ResourcesThe Director, HR Business Partner – The Woodlands & Northeast serves as the senior strategic HR leader supporting both hospital campuses, with responsibility for setting and executing local people strategies aligned with business and organizational priorities. Partnering closely with the Campus CEO and senior leadership, this role leads a team of three HR professionals and provides strategic guidance across talent and workforce planning, leadership development, succession planning, employee engagement and retention, compensation and salary planning, performance management and calibration, culture transformation, and change management. The Director uses workforce and engagement insights to identify opportunities, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and proactively address organizational needs while supporting key initiatives such as campus growth and expansion. In addition to rotating consistently between The Woodlands and Northeast campuses, the Director provides strategic HR partnership to System Pharmacy leadership and participates in leadership councils and other enterprise initiatives. This role requires an experienced HR business partner and people leader who can build trusted relationships at all organizational levels, demonstrate strong business acumen and managerial courage, manage multiple priorities across complex environments, and serve as a proactive strategic advisor rather than an operational HR generalist.

Healthcare HR Leadership Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Certified HR Professional (e.g. PHR, SPHR, or related) preferred.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Ten (10) years of experience in HR business or client management with experience in strategic talent planning, engagement, retention, client relations and business partnership, leadership development, culture transformation, and/or change management
Five (5) years of people management experience required
Excellent leadership, influence and negotiation skills
Capability to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization
Strong diagnostic skills and conceptual abilities
Demonstrated implementation and execution ability
Knowledge and experience in building team effectiveness
Skilled with change processes in complex systems, conflict resolution and group dynamics

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions and performance appraisals of direct report HR staff members
Serves as the leader to at least 2 community hospitals, a large academic medical hospital or System Services organization.
Provides input into developing HR strategy as well as implements departmental strategy.
Responsible for fiscal accountability to HR facility/entity budgets.
Develops ideas that drive the execution of HR strategies at the facility and/or organizational level.
Determines the need, designs, develops, implements and delivers training and interventions that address issues that include, but are not limited strategic talent planning, engagement, retention, client relations and business partnership, total rewards, leadership development, culture transformation, and/or change management.
Provides consultation on change strategies that align with a performance culture. Acts as driving force of change initiatives.
Uses strong diagnostic skills to significantly improve performance, business outcomes and employee engagement. Prepares and participates in key facility discussions (such as Monthly Operational Review) to ensure alignment & and execution of action plans to improve outcomes.
Proactively identifies strategic gaps or opportunities and proposes a consulting plan to identify and address root causes.
Diagnoses and analyzes root causes of work environment issues. Must build interventions and solutions based on collaboration and cooperation with key stakeholders.
Utilizing strong business acumen competencies, assesses business initiatives and work processes to identify opportunities for leveraging human capital.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
