May work in Central Sterile Processing and work under job duties of Central Sterile Processing Technician. The LPN, Operating Room will perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Vocational/Technical Degree of an accredited school of Practical Nursing Required

Work Experience
1 or more years Practical Nursing experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications
RN - Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia Required
BCLS - Basic Life Support Required

Essential Functions
The LPN, Operating Room will prepare and assist with surgical procedures in collaboration with Registered Nurse.
Pull cases according to doctor preference cards.
Maintain and prepare sterile field.
Maintain knowledge of surgical procedures.
Anticipate needs of surgeon.
Assist surgeon by passing instruments, sutures, etc.
Develops an individualized plan with strategies that address diagnoses.
Provides for continuity through a plan that directs other members of the team.
Implements the plan in a safe and timely manner.
Documents implementation and includes changes or omissions of the identified plan.
Consults with healthcare providers and makes referrals as appropriate.
Utilizes appropriate community resources and systems to implement the plan.
Treats patients and families with compassion and implements plan of care.
Bases care decisions on plan of care.
Monitors and documents patient response.
Establishes rapport with clients. Adapts communication style, listens and responds to patient needs.
Recognizes age-specific responses to treatment. Provides effective interventions.
Respects patients confidentiality and privacy.
Supports social, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families.
Manages difficult or emotional patient situations.
