Data Acquisition Consultant

Job Purpose

The Data Acquisition Consultant reports to the Enterprise Project Management Office and acts as the liaison between our data team and customers. The Project Management team oversees the organization, planning, and implementation of our Med-Metrix Suite of Products and Services, working closely with an experienced team of Med-Metrix Subject Matter Experts with operational expertise in both Healthcare Finance and Revenue Cycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Works directly with customers through the successful implementation utilizing strong technical and analytical skills
• Works collaboratively with assigned MMX Data Team members to plan, coordinate, and implement projects according to defined data specifications
• Must be able to identify and minimize project risks until successful project completion
• Create detailed project plans which identify and sequences the activities needed to successfully implement a project
• Lead conversations with customers, business, and technical representatives regarding all data aspects in a clear and professional manner on the phone, via email, and in person
• Understand SQL table structure to analyze customer provided inbound data files including account, payment, demographics, and charge files
• Create/ maintain project documentation, data specifications, diagrams, and process maps during implementation
• Able to work with customer to troubleshoot data and review QA reports prepared by the data team and where applicable lead discussion with the customer related to operational impacts
• Proactively communicate and manages expectations of both internal and external stakeholders by facilitating weekly calls, recording detailed meeting minutes, identifies next steps, and diligently follows-up on all open activities until project completion
• Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
• Ensures project deliverables are met timely, to the satisfaction of our customers, and meet the high-quality standards that have been set by Med-Metrix
• Lead teams in high priority risk situations by coordinating and instilling a sense of urgency where applicable across multiple internal and client cross functional teams
• Acts as point of escalation for critical implementation-related risks and facilitate their timely resolution
• Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards

Qualifications

• Understanding of SQL table structure is preferred, but not required
• Healthcare domain knowledge preferred
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and outside of normal work hours occassionally
• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move around the work area; Sit; perform manual tasks; operate tools and other office equipment such as computer, computer peripherals and telephones; extend arms; kneel; talk and hear.
• Mental Demands: The employee must be able to follow directions, collaborate with others, and handle stress.
• Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
