Job Description
Ready to make a difference? BAE Systems is looking for systems engineers to develop, build, and work on the world's most advanced electromagnetic spectrum operations systems - detecting, identifying, locating, and countering threats for joint forces and international aircrew. The Electronic Support Measures (ESM) Capability Group (CG) is a high-performance team of Subject Matter Experts in the EW domain. We develop highly sophisticated digital Electronic Warfare (EW) systems and we are looking for a motivated systems engineering Functional manager to join and shape out cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams developing and supporting next generation ESM systems.

Technical responsibilities will include developing new ESM capabilities for application in EW systems and performing systems engineering activities such as developing and managing systems level requirements; developing operational systems concepts to inform system design, developing and evaluation of system designs and architectures; performing system architecture trade studies; developing and evaluation of ESM techniques and algorithms; performing threat analysis; developing performance models; and defining systems level integration and test for highly complex systems to verify and validate aspects of system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.

Functional Manager responsibilities include recruiting, developing, recognizing, retaining, and assigning team members as appropriate to meet business needs; develop individual and group goals and objectives, collect and provide performance feedback; interface with PEMs, PLELs, and PLTDs to understand current and future states of program requirements from the CG; ensure members adhere to the BAE Systems' cultural principles, policies, and vision.

Work location is in Totowa New Jersey. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
